Going home was quite interesting....

lets see where do I begin.

Seeing my mom and dad is great for up to 15 minutes. After that its what Ive should have done, who I should have dated, why I dont go to church that often, why I do this, why I do that, ect ect. Pretty much a 3 hour session of how much I am a disappointment to them and why I am not on track with the other kids in our community.

Then Saturday rolls along and I have to deal with my little sister.

I think 10 years ago.... things were completely different. The internet was new, there was no mypsace or facebook, or EP. Not every kid had a cell phone. What the f*ck is going on with teenagers these days. Now this isnt generalizing all teens. But I just wonder what the hell my little sister is thinking sometimes. So we took my little sister our and another 17 year old boy (a cousin of my girl friend). He is a junior in hs, and my sister is a sophomore. But right away I could tell the difference between the to. Where as she is only concerned about "looking cute" and "being pretty" and "having a boyfriend", this kid is looking at colleges, shadowing doctors, and is not really concerned about highschool. He is still very popular and social, but he sees a life beyond highschool where as my little sister doesnt.

And its not like anything I tell her sinks in, she just laughs it off. I fear that my little sister will end up a loser with no successful life and dependant on the folks and a loser boyfriend/husband. She will go nowhere in life if she doesnt straighten up. I try to tell her not to do the same things I did and to focus on school and colleges, but all she cares about is boys and sending text messages.

To make matters worse is that when she needs me the most, I am not available for her because I live in another city. My older brother is pretty much useless. I am trying my best to get her on track and get her serious about life but for now, its just boys and sending text messages.

The damn girl is anorexic. She has this whore of a friend who is telling my little sister that she is ugly and that she needs to put up racey pictures on her myspace to get more guys. WHAT THE F*CK. What is wrong with young girls these days. I know this is not typical of all young girls but what the hell. You young ladies are just giving it away for free and then when you are taken advantage of, then you cry. Sorry for the rant but this is unnacceptable. I try to spend as much time as I can with her when I am in Dallas, but its hard because I am only there for about 24 hours.

I stay up nights worrying about her... wondering how she will make it through life. I dont want to see her hurt at all or to suffer but this is just unacceptable. Being an "understanding" older brother is not working. She doesnt seem to comprehend what I tell her. Reasoning with her is out the door. Its just in one ear, and out the other. I dont want to yell at her and treat her like a 12 year old but I dont see any other alternative....she has so much potential and can be whatever she wants to be. She just doesnt want to do anything.

Teenagers are different species. I cant even relate to someone 10 years younger than me. Thats how fast things change.
